The bald kids are cancer patients who are bald from the cancer treatment. Its a government hospital (KIDWAI Cancer Institute) that I visited so its in poor condition. The people go there because the treatment is relatively affordable. So they are village people who are often illiterate. Only one person is allowed to stay with the kid. It usually is the mom.
They are a lot of fun. We hope to train the moms to take better care of their kids. They are super sensitive to infection.
The supervisor of the children's ward is crazy. She yells at people who want to visit the kids. I was sitting on a counter that I didn't realize was a counter and she told me to "stop dirtying up her India." Then she let me play with the kids.
